REVIEW POLICY
The facts are simple - we
listen to everything that turns up. We only have the time and space and
inclination to tell you about/play/broadcast/review the very best - the
things that excite us, the things we want to share and really want you
to make the effort to check out, the things we want to shout our opinionated
big mouths off about. We can’t be here wasting time and cluttering up space
writing about the crap, the uninspired, the watered down conformists and
the many dreadfully dull things that we encounter (nor do we have time
for those who’s heads aren’t in the right place, it’s not always just about
the music) and the things that just aren't our thing (OK so sometimes we
might say something, there's only so many copy cat extreme metal bands
we can put up with in a day, and we really do sometimes have to say something
about all these emo hairstyle bands that are clutter up everything). On
the days when we're not raging we’re here for the really exciting life-changing
music, the challenging rewarding bands who are doing it for the right reasons.
Music is better than ever if you make an effort to go out and find it.
You have to make the effort though...
WANT TO SEND SOMETHING TO
US?
Well that’s totally up to
you, you’re more than welcome to, but hey, we NEVER ask anyone to send
anything in, if you want to then that is YOUR choice, you can see what
we cover and what we're about, you can find it all there on our pages,
on the radio show playlists.... We don’t promise anything to anyone other
than the promise to listen/read/check out whatever comes our way with an
open mind. If we have something positive to say then you’ll get some coverage
on line or in print, maybe some radio play, if we don’t then we pass it
on.
Please
don't e.mail us your sound files or mail us asking us to go check out the
sound files on your own websites or My Space, 46 other bands have done
it before you already today, we haven't got time to check out any of them
(we're already chcking out all the other things - we got My Space running
over there, we got You Tube over here, Spotify there, we've got the CD
playing constantly playing over on the left...) You know what we're about,
if you think it's worth sending a cd/whatever in then just do it, stick
it in thr snail mail.... you should be able to work out what we're in to...
IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE SOMETHING WE SHOULD BE REVIEW, PLAYING OR PAYING
ATTENTION TO IN SOMEWAY THEN PLEASE JUST DO IT THE OLD SCHOOL WAY, GET
IT IN THE SNAIL MAIL...

ABOUT MY SPACE...

People, e.mailing us here or via our My Space pages asking us to go listen
to stuff on your My Space page just isn’t going to work. There just isn't
enough time in the day. Everyday hundreds of bands we've never heard of
ask to be added to our My Space friends list or ask us to check out tracks
on My Space. We do check out lots of bands on My Space when we have some
reason to be curious about a band, when some kind of word of mouth buzz
has reached us or someone we already know points something out to us or...
There really isn’t enough time to just randomly check out every single
band we’ve never heard of. If you want our attention or coverage then send
something in via good old old school snail mail, be a little more than
just a My Space daydream of a band. Send something in and we'll listen
to it properly – you’ll get full attention and if we like it then some
really helpful positive coverage, airplay and maybe even more..
Choice
is yours, read a few Organ pages, check out the bands we’ve already released
or played on the radio show, surely you can work out if a stamp and a CD
in the post is worth your time and money. Listening to half a song on My
Space while phones are ringing and such really is no real way to work out
if a new band is any good or not. Our computers can’t be tied up all day
with My Space anyway, we got work to do. Demos and such that come in here
via good old snail mail, get listened to properly, listened to again and
again, if they don’t grab our attention first time then they go back on
the pile and get another listen tomorrow or next week or..... all you bands
who think that all you need to do is put up a My Space page then sit back
and wait for everyone to come to you are... well, you work it out yourselves,
choice is yours. Remember, our policy is never to ask for anything, we
leave it up to you...
Ah look, if you've
got something you want to send us, just do it, get it in the snail mail,
get involved contact and switch the other - if it's good and you've
got the right attitude then you'll get our support.X
We cover the very best of the things we encounter every week here on the
ORGAN website and then we play some on your radio show over on London's
finest station Resonance FM How much easier could it be? Now watch
out for that shark, grab hold of your throbbbing Organ......
AND HEY YOU BANDS AND LABELS,
SUPPORT IS A TWO WAY THING - If we're playing your videos or featuring
you on the radio show or covering you on the website via the pages
the magazine or any of the other things we're doing, please don't take
it all for granted - we need support as well, it would be nice if you tell
people, put links and banners, tell people when we do cover you, tell them
to watch the show or listen to the radio show. kind of makes us want to
do it some more when you return the support, kind of makes us think there
really is an alternative to the soulless mainstream ways - are you with
us? |
