FTSE100 demo landed last week and blew us away; they're based in Cardiff and say they're influenced by the likes of Upsilon Acrux, Don Caballero, - www.myspace.com/ftse100... this once incredibly unheard early CARDIACS song was performed at the special Garage Concerts 2003 and captured on The Special Garage Concerts Vol II, available from www.cardiacs.com... SICBAY are Nick Sakes, Dave Erb and Greg Schaal, this from the recent album Suspicious Icons is on 5440orFight! records: www.fiftyfourfortyorfight.com  or www.sicbay.com ...MIASMA AND THE CAROUSEL OF HEADLESS HORSES include members of Guapo and Alabama3; this track was taken from the 'House Of The Rising Rat vol 1" compilation on Bronzerat records - they're also available (in USA) on Web Of Mimicry... The OPTIMIST CLUB are just releasing this album themselves, called "Ripped And Psyched: How To Be A Winner" - www.myspace.com/optimistclubband.    The stunning ALEUCHATISTAS are a trio from North Carolina; this album (every track of which deserves a ORS play) "What You Will" is just out on Cuneiform Records - more at www.cuneiformrecords.com What can you say about VOIVOD's "Nothingface"?  One of the most important albums of the end of the century, and it still stands up. They never bettered it. The birth of math metal.  This is the version of "Transmission" from DEGENERATE ART ENSEMBLE's "Razor Stitch" album... CATS AND CATS AND CATS are strange and delightful and from Guildford  - more from them soon  This GRICER album is available via www.tautrecordings.com, perfect birthday gift for fans of Trans Am, Mogwai, Billy Mahonie etc.  Not sure what's happened to this particular DYSRHYTHMIA, info is welcome.... ISLAND were a legendary prog band and this fine recording dates from 1977 and the album Pictures, reissued in '96 on Laser's Edge, USA. ARAB ON RADAR split and mutated into Made In Mexico, Chinese Stars etc...
